QR based MIMO Receivers: A Survey of Complexity and Performance

چکیده
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) becomes a key technology to achieve a higher data rates in wireless communication. The theoretical limit of MIMO capacity can be achieved by increasing the number of antennas at the transmitter and receiver. While increasing the number of antennas, receiver design becomes very much challenging. Maximum Likelihood Detector (MLD) provides a optimal performance only if the number of antennas and modulation order is small, Otherwise it is impossible to implement in real time. In this paper, we investigated mainly QRM-MLD, LRAD and SD based on Bit Error Rate (BER) and complexity to compare with MLD. Our comparison will be helpful in understanding the complexity –performance trade-off involved in various methods. And the diversity offered by various methods is discussed. This survey helps in choosing an appropriate method for the required channel conditions.

In this paper author’s proposed an efficient ordering scheme for interference cancellation, which is determined for multiple antenna systems using transmission power control. Based on this approach, the fixed ordering algorithm is first designed, for which the geometric mean is used for channel gain coverage. Simulation results shows that proposed ordering schemes using QR-decomposition require...

In this paper, we investigate the optimization problem of joint source and relay beamforming matrices for a twoway amplify-and-forward (AF) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) relay system. The system consisting of two source nodes and two relay nodes is considered and the linear minimum meansquare-error (MMSE) is employed at both receivers. We assume individual relay power constraints and study an...
متن کاملAn Approach Of A High Performance Qr Decomposition- Based Matrix Inversion Technique For Embedded Mimo Receivers
Real-time matrix inversion is a key enabling technology in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications systems, such as 802.11n. To date, however, no matrix inversion implementation has been devised which supports real-time operation for these standards. In this paper, we overcome this barrier by presenting a novel matrix inversion algorithm which is ideally suited to high performance ...

This paper proposes a simplified QR-based selection criterion for the efficient optimization of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) precoding in a limited feedback system. The proposed selection criterion is developed which determines the precoder yielding the maximum of minimum diagonal entries of the upper triangular matrix of the QR-decomposition on the MIMO channel. Performance evaluation...
